The Mountain Within: A Journey of Passion and Perseverance

Hiking is not just a hobby or a recreational activity; it is a passion that connects us with nature, challenges our limits, and offers a perspective on life that few other experiences can match. For those of us who cherish the thrill of scaling mountains and witnessing the grandeur of sunrises and sunsets from high altitudes, hiking becomes a part of our soul. It’s a journey not just across terrains but also within ourselves.  Today, I came across a video of a man hiking without legs, using only his hands to conquer the trail. Watching his determination was a humbling moment that took me back to my own journey and struggles.   A few months ago, I faced a life-changing knee injury. The doctor suggested surgery to save my mobility, and the thought of losing my ability to hike shattered me. I cried like a child, mourning the possibility of never being able to see the mountains again, never feeling the crisp mountain air, and never experiencing the awe-inspiring sunsets...

A Magical Day at Katraj Zoo with Our Daughter

Today, Amruta and I spontaneously decided to take our 14-month-old daughter, Aarohi, to Katraj Zoo in Pune. It was one of those impromptu plans that turned into an unforgettable experience. We arrived at the zoo around 9:30 am, just as it opened its gates. The early hour allowed us to enjoy a calm, crowd-free start to our adventure. With our tickets booked online, the entrance process was smooth, and we were soon ready to explore. Our first stop was the Snake Park. As we walked through, we saw snakes, iguanas, and alligators. We moved quickly through this section, keeping Aarohi’s experience gentle and light-hearted. Her tiny face was full of curiosity, even if she didn’t quite know what to make of the reptiles. Boarding the electric golf cart for a leisurely tour of the zoo was a highlight. The cart made stops at various sections, starting with the herbivores like deers, antelopes, and blackbucks. Aarohi's face lit up with delight as she pointed excitedly at the animals. It was he...

Austin Aloha Visit

After two relentless weeks of non-stop office work and a whirlwind of meetings with colleagues & friends, Friday finally brought everything to a standstill. I suddenly had a completely free weekend before my journey back to India. Yet, amidst the calm, an overwhelming wave of longing for my daughter crashed over me. It felt like a heavy burden pressing down on my chest, a desperation to hold her, kiss her, and just be with her that grew more intense with every passing moment. Despite this emotional storm, I had already planned a trip to Austin to see my best friend Harshal and his wife Snehal. The three-hour drive from Houston felt like an eternity, each mile amplifying my longing. But seeing Harshal was a must. For the past 13 years, our bond has remained unbreakable, despite the distance. Our regular phone calls have kept us close, but nothing can replace the magic of being together in person. When I finally arrived at Austin downtown, I saw Harshal waiting for me. We embraced ...

He doesn't love you the way you want

Just because he doesn't love you the way you want him to doesn't mean he doesn't love you with all he has. Love manifests in many forms, shaped by individual experiences and personal capacities. He might express his affection through actions rather than words, or he may show his care in subtle, less obvious ways. Understanding that his love might not align perfectly with your expectations can be challenging, but it doesn't diminish its depth or sincerity. It's important to recognize and appreciate the unique ways he shows his love, which may be deeply meaningful and genuine, even if they differ from your ideal.

A Day at the Texas Shooting Range: Precision, Passion, and a Bit of Adventure

Today, I had the thrilling opportunity to visit a Texas shooting range, courtesy of my colleague and manager, Jonathan. A true enthusiast of firearms and hunting. We had made this plan a while ago, and after a hectic work week, it was finally time to put our plan into action. Jonathan had prepped his gear over the weekend, and we chose Monday evening for our outing, hoping to avoid the weekend rush. As we arrived at the range, Jonathan opened his trunk, revealing an impressive array of firearms. He asked me to help carry the smaller of the heavy cases. When we placed them on the table, I was astounded by his collection—everything from sleek handguns to a hunter rifle, spanning from 25 meters to 200 meters in range. We donned our shooting glasses and sound-cancelling headphones before diving into our practice. Starting with the 9mm handguns at the 25-meter range, I had the chance to test out four different models. Among them was a German-made handgun with a particularly fierce recoil. D...

Cheers to friendship and community, near and far!

It all started a few years ago when we became neighbors at Equilife Homes. What began as simple smiles and occasional hellos grew into sharing meals and supporting each other through the ups and downs of raising kids. Our daily interactions became a comforting routine. Life took Shrikant & Nitin both to the USA, and with busy schedules and different time zones, we couldn't stay in touch as often as we wanted. But recently, we had the chance to reconnect. They both traveled nearly 200 miles to meet up, and despite the distance and time apart, it felt like no time had passed at all. We spent hours catching up, talking about life, careers, and family. We reminisced about old times while enjoying American-style food at IHOP and Bubba Gump, straight out of the Forrest Gump movie. It was a day filled with laughter, memories, and a reminder of the special bond we share. Business travel is demanding, with its tight schedules and endless meetings, but this reunion was a breath of fresh ...

Love letter

My Dearest Ammu, I hope this letter finds you and our precious daughter well. As I prepare to leave for my work abroad, I find myself thinking deeply about your question: why I don't cry when saying goodbye. It's a question that touches the core of my heart, and I want to share my feelings with you as openly and honestly as I can. Leaving you both is one of the hardest things I do. Every moment away from you is filled with longing and love. But when it comes time to say goodbye, I hold back my tears not because I don't feel the pain of parting, but because I want to stay strong for our family. I want you to see that my resolve is steadfast, that my love for you and our daughter is the driving force behind every decision I make. Visiting abroad is a sacrifice I choose to make for our daughter's future. It's for the opportunities we want her to have, the dreams we want her to pursue without hesitation. The money I earn during these trips will help us build a secure, c...
